Doric is the Scottish dialect spoken in the north-east of Scotland and, as of 2018, has been granted the status of Scotland's third official language, alongside English and Scottish Gaelic.
This dialect is often described as poetic and rhythmic with a soft gentle flow and a pronounced roll of the r. It has a rich history of literature, ballads, songs, poetry and folklore.
