Atlantis Lodges
Bordering on the Bay of Firth, Finstown (midway between Kirkwall and Stromness), the Lodges are an ideal base for exploring Mainland Orkney and all the Orkney Islands. The lodges can be booked for short breaks or longer stays, starting any day of the week.

There are 8 x 2-person lodges (1 bedroomed), each situated on the ground floor – see floor plan on our website
The lounge has a galley kitchen and the dining table is beside the window, which looks out over the bay.
There are 4 x family lodges (2 bedroomed), each situated on the upper floor of the building
The lounge/diner is larger than the 2-person lodge below it, and it also has a galley kitchen. The dining table is beside the window, which looks out over the bay of Firth.
Kitchens in all lodges are well equipped with microwave oven, electric cooker, ample tableware and cooking utensils.
Other facilities: radio alarms, TV with freeview and DVD, CD player, WiFi and mobile network coverage.
Linen and towels provided. There is an onsite laundry for guests.
Our modern accommodation is conveniently located in Finstown, just off the A965 main Kirkwall to Stromness road. This provides good access to transport links to and within Orkney.
The Lodges are a great base for exploring Orkney. From here, there is easy access to the Heart of Neolithic Orkney World Heritage site and its archaeological treasures, such as Skara Brae Maeshowe Ring of Brodgar and Standing Stones of Stenness.
The Lodges are set on the shoreline, with the heather-covered Heddle Hill rising up behind. Seals, otters, eider ducks and many wading birds are regularly seen in the area, as well as short-eared owls and hen harriers up on the hill.
The Cuween Cairn, a Stone Age monument, stands on the hill above Finstown. Excavations here uncovered 24 dog skulls, suggesting they had special significance for the Neolithic people. The Cairn also commands a wonderful view across the Bay of Firth towards the North Isles - the short walk is well worth the effort!
The West Mainland has so much to offer within easy reach - lovely walks, sandy beaches, RSPB nature reserves, trout fishing loch, local museums, craft workshops and tearooms.
There are ferries to the outlying islands from Tingwall (Rousay, Egilsay, Wyre)), Houton (Hoy, Flotta and Graemsay) and Kirkwall (Eday, Sanday, Stronsay, Westray).
Beyond Kirkwall lies the East Mainland, Deerness and the linked South Isles, reached via the historic Churchill Barriers. Ideally located in the centre of all this are the Atlantis Lodges - right in the heart of Orkney!
