Clèadail Guest House has two King Sized Bedrooms with ensuite, WiFi, Smart TV, and fridge. Each room can accommodate two adults, but we are iunable to accommodate children or pets.
We offer a complementary light breakfast of coffee, choice of cereal, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and cake. There is a breakfast table and seating just outside your room.
Annishader is a crofting township, 12 minute drive from Portree and 16 minutes from Uig (and the Ferry Port). The name Annishader is from the Norse for “Seat of the Eagle” (in other words “The Eagle Township”). We frequently see Eagles circling over the basalt hills around us, watching the hares below.
To the East, there are often beautiful sunrises over Beinn a' Chearcaill on the Trotternish Ridge (we are on the opposite side of the Ridge to the Old Man of Storr). As night follows day, the sun sets gloriously behind Loch Snizort and the Outer Hebridean Isle of Harris.
The name of the Guest House, Clèadail, is also the name of the main settlement on the Isle of Eigg. It is from the Gaelic for “Cliff Valley”. Nestled below Beinn a’ Chearcaill and looking out over Lock Snizort and beyond to the Outer Hebrides, we thought it perfectly describes the location of the Guest House.
All our water comes from our private well fed by water from the volcanic basalt hills surrounding us. It’s great water!! The pump and the water are tested by Highland Council regularly; it is filtered and passes through UV light. There are no additives in it whatsoever.
There is a large garden with picnic tables. We don’t get many midges up here at the top of the Township, so it’s very pleasant early evening; if you stay up a wee while longer, you can watch the sun set over Loch Snizort with the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides in the distance.
You may meet the two lovely cats who live with us (Diego and Jasper), although they are quite shy of people. They are, of course, very curious ... but do not have access to any of the Guest Areas.
We would love to have you as our Guests, but wherever you choose to stay, we are sure you will have a lovely lovely holiday on this beautiful island!!! Relax and enjoy the Hebridean breeze, the blue skies and all the lovely things to see and do!
