Assynt House
Assynt House is a beautiful family home nestled in the Ross-shire countryside, an ideal base to explore the Highlands of Scotland, conveniently located only 20 miles north of Inverness.
Assynt House is a 5 Star Exclusive Use Venue, sleeping fourteen, plus cots and fold-away beds for young children. Each of the seven bedrooms are individually designed to give their own character. All bedrooms are en-suite with towels, toiletries, linen and bathrobes all provided for your use during your stay. Daily housekeeping is complimentry and catering is offered by pre-arrangement.
Spread over three floors, this Georgian country house has four spacious bedrooms upstairs, on the lower ground floor are a further three spacious bedrooms, more contemporary in their design with the added luxury of under floor heating.
The main floor is home to a grand drawing room with wood paneling. There is also a quiet sitting room, a TV lounge and fully equipped kitchen with AGA. Choose between the flexible choice of self-catering and catered stays with owner chef, Graham Waugh.
The house dates back to the 1700's, retaining many original features and is unique in providing many of the luxuries of a hotel with the relaxed, informal atmosphere of a holiday home, decorated in a classic style complimented by both modern and antique furnishing's. Whether you are a group of fourteen or a family of four, Assynt House is a fabulously unique venue for your holiday, corporate group or special occasion. The house has been lovingly restored from a near ruin by its owners who continue to maintain this Grade B Listed building and welcome guests personally throughout the year.
If you would like to take advantage of the flexible catering service offered, dinners, breakfasts and one-pot meals are all available. Your hosts can help you to arrange activities and entertainment or any little detail to make your stay more special, from hiring a hot tub to a Mini Highland Games, there are so many options available. The house sits in 6 acres of gardens and woodland and makes an excellent base for you to explore the Highlands of Scotland.
