The Burrell Collection
The Burrell Collection is one of the greatest art collections ever amassed by one person, consisting of more than than 9,000 objects spanning 6,000 years of history. The Burrell Collection reopened on 29 March 2022 following an extensive refurbishment and redisplay.
The Burrell Collection is housed in an award-winning building in the heart of Pollok Country Park, Glasgow's largest green space. The Collection is named after its donor, the shipping magnate Sir William Burrell.
The displays range from work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and Cézanne to important examples of late medieval art, Chinese and Islamic art, ancient civilizations and more. Regular temporary exhibitions are hosted at The Burrell which also runs an extensive programme of events and activities for children.

Getting here by Road
There is a pay and display car park at The Burrell Collection. Parking costs £5 for up to 4 hours, £10 for all day. Payment can be made with cash (coins only) or using the RingGo app, which is available in your app store. Instructions on how to pay using the app are provided at the paypoints.
Parking is free for blue badge holders, please ensure the badge is prominently displayed. There are 19 bays specifically marked.
Getting here by Public Transport
By Bus:
Direct services from Glasgow city centre to:
• Pollokshaws Road: routes 57/57A, there is a bus stop directly opposite the park entrance
• Shawbridge Street: route 3, alight at Shawholm Crescent
• Dumbreck Road: routes 34/34A, alight opposite Haggswood Avenue
Journey times are approximately 20 minutes.
By train:
Take a train from Glasgow Central station to Pollokshaws West train station, which is located next to park. Journey time is approximately 10 minutes.
It takes about ten to fifteen minutes to walk to The Burrell Collection from the park entrance and there are a number of signposts along the way.
A courtesy bus runs half-hourly from a bus stop just inside the park entrance, taking you to both The Burrell Collection and Pollok House, also located in Pollok Country Park. The bus is wheelchair accessible.
