This iconic Georgian walled garden with a modern twist offers woodland walks by a sparkling burn leading to the sea. The Stables Visitor Centre houses craft and plant shop, cafe for hearty lunches and homebaking and regular family events and horticultural courses.
Cambo's large, romantic, Geogian walled garden is built around the Cambo Burn, which, with its summerhouse, willows, elegant wrought-iron bridges and waterfall, gives the garden its unique character. The inspirational and innovatively-planted herbaceous displays frequently incorporate rarely-seen plants and are constantly evolving.
There are also masses of spring bulbs, a lilac walk, rambler roses and spectacular late-season herbaceous borders. An ornamental potager and cutting garden add to the variety, and a traditional vegetable garden supplies produce for the café and shop at the newly developed Stables Visitor Centre.
Wider grounds include a North American prairie and stunning winter garden. Woodland walks lead down to the sea, spectacular from February to mid-March when carpeted with aconites, snowflakes and snowdrops. The Stables Visitor Centre opened in late 2017. Housed in the historic Cambo stables complex, the centre hosts an exhibition exploring the history, gardens and designed landscape of Cambo Estate, wonderful cafe for hearty lunches and homebaking and a nature play area for young children.
