Tucked Away is a boutique style self catering for two Portree in the beautiful Isle of Skye
Situated in Achachork on the outskirts of Portree, the capital of Skye, our luxury self-catering accommodation is the perfect place from which to explore our breathtaking island. The location is central enough to be close to handy local amenities in Portree, but far enough to experience the peaceful islander lifestyle. Tucked Away is ideal self-catering accommodation for couples and a wonderful honeymoon location on the Isle of Skye.
BedroomThe bedroom at Tucked Away is a large warm, bright and charming room on the first floor with views of the surrounding crofts from the side window. The room is furnished in solid oak, painted in natural earthy colours and has a king size bed. There are gorgeous locally sourced sheepskin rugs on either side of the bed, a beautiful roberts radio to wake up to in the morning, a perfect way to start your day exploring the island.
BathroomTucked Away has a large and airy bathroom with a walk in shower, as well as a large double ended bath for those wishing to lie back and relax.
Living AreaThe living area boasts one of the most breathtaking views of the Cuillins Skye has to offer through floor to ceiling windows - a haven of peace and tranquility.
The area is a large open plan space equipped with two large comfortable leather sofas, a flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD player, a BOSE iPod docking station, a comfortable double sofa bed, and a bookcase with a selection of books & information about the island. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind in comfort and peace.
Kitchen & Dining AreaDownstairs the open plan kitchen and dining area spans the full length of the house. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a self catering trip including fully integrated kitchen appliances (fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, double oven/hob, microwave, etc) There is a full selection of crockery and utensils.
There is a large oak dining table at the front of the house with four high back leather chairs for you to dine in style. If cooking is not your thing, there are plenty of wonderful restaurants to visit on the island including the world renowned ‘Three Chimneys' and in Portree Scorrybreak restaurant
OutsideTucked Away has a large safe area to park cars or other vehicles. We also have a large garage which we are happy for you to use for storing camping/walking gear, bicycles etc.
Iain and Margaret Cormack completed building Tucked Away in May 2012 after a one year self build project. Tucked Away lies behind and adjacent to their own home.
