The Roundel is an exclusive use 5 star property set in the picturesque hamlet of Peat Inn, just a few miles from St Andrews. Beautifully appointed and sumptuously equipped to appeal to the most discerning of guests.
As soon as guests arrive at Hawkswood Country Estate, they know they are somewhere special from the great care and attention to detail by the Owners in the design of such as lovely properties. The Estate is made up of three properties – Hawkswood House which opened in Summer 2014, The Roundel which opened March 2016 and Bowhill House which was launched April 2022.
All of our properties offer 5 luxury en-suite bedrooms with the flexibility of being double or twin accommodation. The Roundel has also two reception rooms one feature room being the Roundel room itself which can accommodate dining for larger parties. All properties come with top of the range kitchens for parties who wish to self-cater or our team will arrange for all staffing requirements to a private Chef catering for breakfast and dinner.
At The Roundel we cater for the golfer. So, in order to improve your short game skills, before visiting one of the great golf courses in nearby St Andrews, we have built your very own Short Game Areas private to each house in our grounds. Our Short Game Areas were designed and built by a golf professional, to provide the perfect practice area for honing your short game. The Roundel has 3 pitching mats, 9 holes and two bunkers. This offers the opportunity to practice a variety of shots on your very own private practice area. We are also delighted to offer our private 250-yard driving range on the Estate for all guests to use.
The Roundel offers guests the chance to unwind in our Hydro Spa, with room for all. It offers 43 state-of-the-art jets that relieve-tension in targeted areas including your back, neck, shoulders and calves by cascading up and down your back, a perfect way to relax and unwind. Enjoy dining al fresco with our impressive Mediterranean barbecue and outdoor patio area. Perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing with friends and family
When Hawkswood Country Estate is taken exclusively for one party we can offer 15 bedrooms and accommodate up to 30 guests – offering a wonderful 5-star experience.
If guests wish In-House Catering to prepare a full Scottish Breakfast then a supplement can be added per person per day. For dinner guests may wish to self-cater such as using our BBQ, book the Peat Inn restaurant which is 5 minutes-drive away or use the coach and be taken into St Andrews. We can also arrange a Chef for dinner. Being an exclusive use property you can bring your own beverages at no charge.
For transport we offer one complimentary return luxury transport per day excluding the festive period. Our 16-seater or 8-seater vehicles are available to guests requiring transfers to and from your golfing / social tour destination should the party split within the St Andrews / East Neuk area. This is complimentary for stays of three nights or more and must be booked in advance, any additional social runs are chargeable.
The daily complimentary transport hours are between 08.00 and 20.00 hours seven days a week. The management cannot guarantee any specific transfer times during busy periods. Please note the complimentary transfer is per party and not per house when renting both properties.
