Situated on the edge of Loch Goil, Rowan House's B&B rooms and self-catering apartment enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park - We provide the highest standards and aim to exceed guest expectations, with our newly installed outdoor gym equipment (Air Walker and an Arm / Pedal Bike), both loch facing as well as relaxing on the front garden / shore beach. We have a purpose built studio that guests can use free of charge for that all important zoom call or job interview, "subject to availability" - Its home from home with many extras / treats during your stay :)
We are a highly rated B&B (9.9 /10 .booking-com. with 99% of our guests rating us 10/10, we are rated 5 ***** Stars on .Tripadvisor. and 5/5 on google reviews - we really are one one of the highest rated B&Bs in Scotland - providing both B&B rooms and a self catering serviced apartment. Each of our B&B rooms has a flat-screen smart TV with built-in DVD player, hairdryer, fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities; all rooms have blackout blinds - guests can also request the use of dressing gowns and slippers durin their stay. All B&B rooms have an en suite or a private bathroom, and stunning loch views of Loch Goil or hillside, gardens and mountains. A microwave and free nespresso coffee machine is available for guests use in the dining room and crockery / cutlery during day / evevening - It really is home from home.
The self-catering apartment has stunning loch views from both the ground and first floor. Guests in the self-catering apartment can arrange to have breakfast at an additional charge. The self-catering apartment has a full-sized oven / grill, four-ring hob and a separate microwave oven,and also has a smart TV with Sky Q access.
We provide a wide range of breakfast options, including a choice of continental or a cooked breakfast served in the dining room each morning. We also have weekly specials with an emphasis on locally sourced produce. Special dietary requests including vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free can be accommodated.
Rowan House B&B Rooms & A Self Catering Apartment is around an hour's drive from Glasgow Airport and around 60 miles from Oban, where ferries depart to the Isle of Mull, or an hour's drive to Dunoon for ferries to Greenock / Gourock and down the coastal road towards Largs.
Rowan House is situated in the hamlet of Carrick Castle just 4.5 miles on from Lochgoilhead and is the closest B&B to the Carrick Castle Estate wedding venue, just a few mintues walk away. The small village of Lochgoilhead is a 10-minute drive away, with restaurant / pub, a post office and village store, as well as a scenic 9-hole golf course.
In front of Rowan House, our 'shore' garden goes straight to the beach / water's edge where there is plenty of room to sit and relax, listen to the birds and water whilst enjoying the stunning views, you may even spot the odd seal! Guests can use available seating and can bring a disposable bbq onto the pebble beach to use. This garden area is grassed and leads onto the shingle beach from which you can swim and kayak/paddleboard, as well as fish. By the side of the seating area there is a gated private slipway should you like to bring a boat; we also have our own mooring. There is also free car parking and you can store bicycles / canoes at the rear of the house.
There is also a purpose studio (office) that can be booked in advance, free of charge, for all that important zoom call or interview, complete privacy with excellent wifi - subject to availability
Guests can also enjoy relaxing on our front garden, straight onto the beach, and we have recently added two new outdoor exercise equipment (Air Walker and a Arm / Peddle Bike), all of which are facing onto Loch Goil
Please note that the self catering apartment is listed as such, and all other rooms are B&B rooms. In the B&B we have two double rooms and a twin room with ensuite.
Loch Goil has a resident seal colony and porpoises are seen. There's great fishing plus its sheltered aspect makes it ideal for kayaking & sailing or simply cruising. If you enjoy wildlife there are red squirrels and many different types of birds including Golden Eagles. There is a range of walks to suit all abilities through ancient woodlands, along the shore or up high among the hills. Kayak and paddleboard hire is available locally.
