Macdonald Forest Hills Resort includes an elegant Edwardian Country House Hotel sheltered by the scenic foothills of the Trossachs and overlooking the tranquil shores of Loch Ard.
Macdonald Forest Hills Resort is set in twenty-five acres of wonderful landscaped gardens and woodland within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It is ideal for exploring the magnificent Trossachs, which was Scotland’s first National Park. Its peaceful and easily accessible from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. Located a few miles from the resort is the town of Aberfoyle with a selection of shops, a supermarket and golf course. The quality accommodation is well furnished with balconies or patios,complete with outdoor furniture and there is a choice of one and two bedroom accommodation with telephone, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave, some units even have their own sauna. Most are south facing with stunning views across the Loch and offer free Wi-Fi and free parking. The hotel has a bar and two restaurants alongside a luxury spa which is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. There is also a large indoor pool, spa pool, rock sauna, experience shower, four treatment rooms and a relaxation room. For a more active break its a short stroll down to the Loch for fishing or watersports and nearby there's Go Ape. For a taste of history visit the burial place of Rob 'Roy' MacGregor at Balquhidder at Brig O'Turk, the famous stone cottages that attracted Ruskin, Millais and many other eminent Victorians to the area, and Callander - the 'Tannoch Brae' of Dr Finlay's Casebook.
