The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025 will be one of Scotland’s biggest events this year, with four days of fun for all ages and festival vibes.
The four-day maritime festival, which is Europe’s largest free family event, will transform the quayside in Port of Aberdeen’s North Harbour into a world-class event space.
A spectacular forest of masts will be the backdrop for the event with more than 50 vessels from across the globe ready to welcome visitors on board.
Deacon Blue, Kaiser Chiefs, Ministry Of Sound Classical and Tide Lines will headline four stunning open-air gigs that will provide an epic soundtrack to the event. They will take to the stage for the unique Quayside Concerts – with Tide Lines playing a free gig as a thank you from Tall Ships organisers to the people of Aberdeen - in a purpose-built 7,000 capacity venue created at Peterson Seabase on Regent Quay.
Peterson Seabase will also host an exciting free events programme with vibrant schedule of daytime, family-friendly entertainment. Highlights will include performances by local artists, ship bands, traditional sea shanty groups, and more
The quaysides will host a rich range of attractions from food and craft stalls to street performers during the Tall Ships Races, which has been brought to the city in a concerted effort between Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired and Port of Aberdeen.
The city centre will buzz with more than 1,500 sailors joining the international crew parade featuring live music, dance, and theatre, and the ships set sail for Kristiansand, Norway, on the 22nd of July. This departure will be marked by a parade of sail along the beach esplanade.
