The Lint Mill offers 4 star gold luxury bed & breakfast on a traditional smallholding farm in the rolling countryside of Scotland’s Southern Uplands. We are organic and eco-friendly. Situated only 45 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference to a trip away and at The Lint Mill the home produce, the fresh flowers, home-made cakes and bookshelves stacked with games, jigsaws, novels and maps all make this a special place to stay.
Whether you choose to snuggle in front of the cosy wood-burner in the chilly winter evenings or relax in the pretty walled cottage garden on a summer afternoon, The Lint Mill is charming in all seasons.
There are plenty of footpaths all around the smallholding, choose from a brief stroll along the river in the river paddock, a walk along the old drovers road or serious all day hike in the lovely Scottish Borders.The accommodation comprises the conservatory, which is the ideal place to take breakfast or relax with a drink as the sun sets over the walled garden. In the sitting room you will find comfortable feather filled sofas, a log burning stove and dining table. There is a hifi with an iPod docking station and access to a vast and eclectic collection of CDs. There is free Wifi internet access and there are coffee and tea making facilities as well as wine glasses and a corkscrew!
The spacious, lofted bedroom boasts a traditional iron bedstead (kingsize) and a single daybed, comfortable mattresses, feather and down duvets, feather pillows (hypoallergenic bedding available on request), egyptian cotton bedlinen and an electric blanket for chillier evenings. The en-suite bathroom has a power shower and there is plentiful hot water throughout the day. Natural, hand-made soaps from our own goats' milk, hairdryer and bathrobes are provided.
For those who desire quiet and solitude for painting, writing, meditation, or yoga there is a peaceful Artist’s Studio in the grounds available for use by arrangement. Yoga mats and equipment are available.
