The Bothy
Magical off grid Eco Bothy nestled in the Menteith Hills with stunning views and wood fired hot tub!
Gorgeous rural off grid cabin offers a romantic retreat for 2, nestled in the Menteith Hills, within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. If you enjoy hiking, biking, wild swimming and fantastic views then The Bothy at Nether Glenny is the cabin for you!
The open plan cabin contains a dining area, new kitchen and a spacious living area with a huge wood burner in the centre of the room. There is a mezzanine floor where you'll find a king size bed, with magnificent designer headboard, storage drawers and a little window through which you can enjoy the star lit nights. Luxurious bed linen, fluffy towels, planet friendly toiletries and cleaning products are provided for you. Twinkling candle lanterns and the glow from the wood burner ensure the perfect ambience.
The deck at the front and back of The Bothy is a place for you to relax and soak up the views. Discover the luxury of a wood-fired Hot Tub on your deck; watch the sun go down or lie back and soak up the star lit sky. The Bothy has an eco toilet and an electric shower in separate rooms which are accessed from the rear deck guests can access their shower room which offers the best of both worlds; a piping hot electric shower in a contained, yet still the feel of being immersed in fresh mountain air. Another little room, accessed from the back deck, is home to our quirky yet modern eco toilet.
Choose to cook inside in the oven which is an integral part of the wood burning stove or on the double hob in the kitchen. If you fancy cooking outside then there is a portable BBQ or go rustic and use The grill over the Hikki fire pit. Take a night off and order something from our hugely popular 'dine in' menu; collect your meal from the farm house or we can arrange for it to be in The Bothy on your arrival. Guests can then heat and serve their meal whenever they choose. You'll arrive to a gorgeous welcome hamper containing local produce and other essentials for your stay such as fair-trade tea and fresh coffee and the new retro fridge is perfect for storing fresh produce and there's even an ice box.
In winter you can, snuggle up with the cosy blankets provided, sit outside by the chiminea roasting marshmallows and enjoying a star lit dark sky.
There is incredible hiking direct from the bothy door where you can see some of the best mountain views of the Trossachs. On your hikes and from The Bothy look out for wildlife such as red deer, roe deer, red squirrels, Osprey in Summer, a variety of birds of prey and black grouse.
The Bothy has a fence around it so you can enjoy your daily visits from the Highland Cows and Pet sheep without them joining you for breakfast! Book a Nether Glenny Farm Tour where Matthew will take you 4x4 off road trip, on the Kawasaki Mule, around the estate to soak up the most magnificent views, meet and greet all the friendly farm animals as well as visiting the sites of neolithic rock carvings and our Agroforestry projects.
Your experience in The Bothy will be one that you will never forget and we very much look forward to welcoming you.
