Tucked away in a beautiful rural, secluded location on Carfrae Farm in East Lothian. A range of outdoor activities such as wild swimming, guided hill walks, foraging, bushcraft can be booked via our own website at Carfrae Farm. A perfect location to explore the open spaces of the countryside with the family and your furry friends!
A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald (nearest pub) and 3 miles from the village of Gifford (supermarket in village). The location is on a farm at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great nearby walks along the picturesque beaches, foothill paths & tracks. It’s also a great area for cycling. The cottage offers a truly relaxing stay in the quiet of the countryside although it is also only 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh and the local villages and towns are of course nearer.

Open plan sitting and dining area:
Cosy up in the ground floor sitting room with the wood burning stove, Smart TV and dining space.
Kitchen:
Well equipped kitchen on the ground floor with wooden worktops for a country feel yet all the comforts of home with a Nespresso machine and milk frother for the coffee lovers. Integrated appliances: electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Breakfast bar table and chairs also situated in the kitchen area which provides a great social space. From the kitchen there is access to an outdoor dining space with a small bistro table which attracts the evening sun.
Porch Area:
Heated cupboard for coats, boots, shoes and everything outdoors! A great cupboard for storage and drying any items. Also, a perfect area for dogs to dry off before snuggling up with the family in front of the fire!
The Bedroom on the ground floor:
This bedroom can be prepared with either a super king size bed or as a twin room. We value a good night’s sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds in all our cottages gives us confidence we have got this correct. Other features include USB sockets for charging on both sides of the bed, wall mounted smart TV, full length mirror and vast views of The Lammermuir Hills out the front.
The Bedroom upstairs:
This bedroom can be prepared the same as downstairs with either a super king size bed or as a twin room. Features also include USB sockets for charging on both sides of the bed, smart TV, hanging space, mirrored dressing table area, large Velux windows with integrated black out blinds for a long, deep sleep and stunning views over the open countryside for when you awaken.
The Main Bathroom:
Spacious, luxurious bathroom with large double-ended bath, big enough for 2 and a fixed overhead shower. Wash hand basin and WC. Wick-chat chair with soft sheepskin rug. Large Velux window with stunning views over the countryside. Our bathrooms are the perfect space to relax and unwind with hot water, just add bubbles.
The Downstairs Bathroom:
The shower room is situated just off the kitchen with a lavish walk-in shower with large water fall shower head. The bathroom is also kitted out with underfloor heating, wash hand basin and WC.
The Garden and parking:
Large garden area with lawn and seating for outdoor drinks or dining. A great amount of safe garden space for children to play and enjoy. In addition to the garden area, we have a fire pit which is situated in the woodland area next to the cottages. It is the perfect place to enjoy an evening roasting marshmallows, or why not cook your dinner and enjoy the great outdoors!
