Runach Arainn ('Secret or Beloved Arran' in Gaelic) is a small, intimate glamping site on the south end of the Isle of Arran, Scotland. We offer self-catering accommodation in three spacious luxury yurts along with private bathrooms. We are 20 minutes walk from the beach and only a short drive away from all Arran's attractions.
Our quiet rural location offers the opportunity for a romantic retreat or a great base for an outdoor activity packed family holiday.
We have two 20ft diameter and one 18ft diameter Scottish made Yurts complete with log burning stoves (firewood provided), solar powered lighting, private bathrooms and outdoor firepit and picnic area. We also provide bedding and towels. They're fully insulated and contain a lovely wood burning stove/cooker so they are cosy and quiet in any weather. Each yurt has a private bathroom (shower, basin, posh composting toilet and heater). There is also access to a shared utility and laundry room equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and washing dryer. All you need to bring is your clothes!
Arran itself is a spectacular island with amazing views wherever you are, from high in the Goat Fell range in the North to Torrylinn beach down in the South. The island is only 20 miles long and 10 miles wide so you are never far from any of the attractions. For natural history lovers Arran boasts all five of the Scottish Big Five (http://www.scotlandsbig5.co.uk) – Golden Eagle, Red Squirrel, Red Deer, Seal and Otter. If its history you want then we have neolithic remains including the atmospheric standing stones at Machrie Moor, or Brodick Castle and gardens – now laid out as a Victorian hunting lodge.
Arran is a special place and we feel privileged to be able to live here and hope that you will love the place just as much when you visit us.
Once you get to the island we are very easy to find. We are 18 miles (35 minutes drive) from the ferry port at Brodick. Turn left when you leave the ferry port and follow the coast road South around the Island (through Lamlash and Whiting Bay). As you enter the village of Kilmory you will see the Creamery on your left, take the next right turn (next to the bus stop) and follow the road to the Church - Runach Arainn is just beyond the Church.
