Oban is in the heart of Argyll, making it the ideal starting point from which to explore Scotland’s West Coast. And the Oban Bay Hotel is the perfect home from home. It sits on the edge of the town’s picturesque esplanade – a peaceful spot from which you can look out across the water.
Our restaurant, The Grill Room, showcases the very best of Oban’s local produce. It takes its name from the Spanish ‘Josper Grill’, which is used to sear steaks at high temperatures, sealing in the flavour. The stylish Atlantic Bar also serves hearty meals throughout the day. Or you can simply relax in the lounge with a dram, and enjoy the views of the bay.
We also offer a range of spa treatments, including massages, facials and body treatments.
The town of Oban is known for its beautiful gardens, fabulous views, ocean promenade, and ancient relics – all just a short walk from our hotel.
If you take a day out on the water with a sea cruise you may well see dolphins, whales, seals and otters. Anglers and fishing fans can choose between the vast freshwater Loch Awe and dozens of other lochs, lochans and rivers. Sea fishing can also easily be arranged on a skippered charter.
Oban is the perfect base from which to explore the western isles. Mull and Iona are close enough for day trips, while Coll, Tiree and the Outer Hebrides require a slightly longer journey.
