The award-winning '1536' Restaurant at Barony Castle is one of the Scottish Border’s finest, named after the year in which the original dwelling was built at Darnhall, '1536' will truly make you find a gastronomic experience in elegant surroundings. William comes from a highly skilled back ground working for QE11 and the Edinburgh Caledonian Hotel amongst others. The restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosette for 4 years running, the “Healthy Living” Award, Visit Scotland’s “Taste our Best” Award and is also a “Scotch Beef” member.

The Murray Lounge is the newest addition to Barony Castle, located next to the Elibank Suite on the Ground Floor offering a cosy log fire on cold nights and comfortable lounge seating all year around, equipped with three 58 inch flat screens to watch up to 3 different sports events at one time, serving local beers and food from the Blue Dug Bar all day.

Our Bar, Lounge and Restaurant are open every day to the public. Bar and Lounge food is served from 12 noon until 9.00pm.
Breakfast – 07.00-10.00 weekdays & 07.00-11.00 weekends
Lunch – 12.00-17.00 every day – served in the “Blue Dug” Bar, Murray Lounge, conservatory or courtyard
Dinner – 18.00-21.30 every day – served in the “Blue Dug” Bar, Murray Lounge or “Thomson’s @ the Castle” Restaurant
