About
Two, cosy waterside homes-away-from-home, each with their own woodland garden, fabulous mountain and countryside views and Reelig Glen forest walks on the doorstep - both have everything you need for the perfect Highland getaway! We're dog-friendly too and and dogs stay for free - there's nothing better than a morning ramble along Reelig's forest trails, followed by feet up and a cuppa whilst you plan your day of exploring the breathtaking Scottish Highlands!
Smithywood Lodge is for two - open plan with a fabulous queensize bed, ample modern, comfy furniture, a decking area and a woodburning stove - wonderful for all year round breaks.

Where in the World is Moniack?
We're situated in a gem of a Highland glen (Reelig Glen), just off the start of the North Coast 500 touring route. Our lodges are just four miles from the lovely Highland village of Beauly, with cafés, gift shops, an historic priory, river walks and shopping for provisions. Turn off here to visit spectacular Glen Affic wilderness, forests and walks. Inverness city is eight miles away - for larger shops and cafés and restaurants - visit Inverness Castle, the river Ness and Ness Islands walks and head to the start of the Great Glen and Loch Ness, for monster hunting, more castles, lochs, forests and mountains!

Moniack Lodges is a small, friendly, family-run business – your hosts, Antonia and Richard, live a short distance away, so are on hand to give a warm welcome and to share information about their favourite activities, picnic spots and walks, etc., when needed.
Moniack lodges are situatied just off the North Coast 500 touring rout and in an ideal location for visiting some of the most beautiful places in the Scottish Highlands - we're just 4 miles from the bustling Highland village of Beauly and 8 miles from Inverness - the capital of the Highlands - for shopping, eating out, gifts and attractions.
Getting here...
From Inverness (the south); take the A862 towards Beauly for approximately 7 miles, until you see the left turn sign for 'FOREST WALK, MONIACK & CLUNES'.
Turn left and continue straight on towards Reelig Glen Forest Walk - the lodges are on the left, opposite the green Forestry Commission 'Woodland Walk' road sign, approximately 1/2 mile from the walk car park.
NOTE: If using SatNav/GPS device, please do not follow directions to the listed postcode, as the device may lead you to a permenant road block (weak bridge) at the private access track to a neighbouring estate - there is no vehicular access to the lodges via this track. Please follow our printed instructions, which will be sent to you following confirmation of your booking.
From Beauly (the north); take the A862 for approximately 3 miles, until you see the right turn sign for 'FOREST WALK, MONIACK, CLUNES'
Turn right and continue straight on towards Reelig Glen Forest Walk - the lodges are on the left, opposite the green Forestry Commission 'Woodland Walk' road sign, approximately 1/2 mile from the walk car park.
From Fort William (the west); from A82, turn left in Drumnadrochit onto the A831 and continue for approximately 1 mile. Then trun right onto the A833 to Beauly. - continue for 25 miles then turn right onto the A862 and continue for 1.5 miles until you see the right turn sign for 'FOREST WALK, MONIACK & CLUNES'.
Turn right and continue straight on towards Reelig Glen Forest Walk - the lodges are on the left opposite the green Forestry Commission 'Woodland Walk' road sign, approximately 1/2 mile from the walk car park.
Transport links to Inverness are excellent
Inverness has good road, rail and air links; Inverness airport is just over half an hour away - there are daily flights from London Gatwick, flights from Birmingham on most days and, also, regular flights from some European airports.
There are, also, daily train and bus services to Inverness city centre - a daily bus sevice is available from Inverness to nearby Inchmore (appoximately 1.5 miles walk away from Moniack along a cycle track and quiet country roads).
Car hire concessions are within the Inverness airport termnal building and, also, within walking distance of Inverness city bus and rail stations.
