Cala Sith
Cala Sith is a carefully modernised traditional Islay stone cottage situated in the centre of the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte. The house can accommodate up to six people self catering in three bedrooms/two bathrooms.

Cala Sith ( a peaceful haven) is a carefully modernised, traditional Islay stone cottage which can sleep up to six guests self catering. Situated in the middle of the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte, the house is a convenient short walk to all amenities in the village. The fishing pier, a small sandy beach, the village pub and the village shop/post office/petrol station are all within 200 yards.
Accommodation (Scottish Tourist Board/VisitScotland 3 Star Self Catering in 2024/25)
The accommodation consists of:
- Three Bedrooms - one master king size bedroom with en suite bathroom, one queen and one twin bedroom. Bed linen/duvets are provided.
- Two Bathrooms - one en suite with a bath, the other with a shower enclosure; each with basin and toilet. Towels are provided.
- Lounge - TV, DVD, electric 'flame effect' fireplace. Wi-fi fibre optic internet access. Comfortably seats six adults.
- Modern Kitchen and adjoining Dining area - fully equipped kitchen with all cooking and dining utensils, electric cooktop, convection oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, combination microwave/oven, automatic washerr. Dining area seats six.
- Small walled in patio outside at rear - with garden furniture.
- Adjacent converted Garage - suitable for storage of bicycles, kayaks, golf clubs, fishing gear, bbq etc. Lockable. Contains tumble dryer; suitable for hanging wet outdoor gear, storing boots, etc.
The house is family friendly; but pets can no longer be accommodated. Adjacent free street parking. The house is non-smoking throughout.
Amenities in Port Charlotte
The Museum of Islay Life, the Natural History Trust centre, the Port Charlotte & Lochindaal hotels, and the LochIndaal Seafood restaurant are within walking distance. The Port Mor Centre, on the edge of the village, contains a bistro cafe and a large children's playground and soccer field, a short walk from the house.
Islay
The house is conveniently situated for visiting all Islay's other attractions including tours of the whisky distilleries, the RSPB wildlife centre and the several historic and heritage sites on the island. Activities available include fishing (sea, loch and river), walking or hiking, boat tours, bird watching, golfing on the Machrie links course, swimming at the Mactaggart leisure centre indoor pool, or relaxing, Islay style, on the island's many extraordinary and secluded beaches.
Travel to Islay
Travel to Islay is either by car ferry from Kennacraig just south of Tarbert on the A83 Campbeltown road; timetable available at www.calmac.co.uk or by air from Glasgow Airport - flights operated by Loganair; timetable and online booking at www.loganair.co.uk. Car hire and taxi services are available on the island. There is also a public bus service to Port Charlotte from the ferry terminals and airport.
Tariffs
The house is rented by the week, from 3:00 pm Saturday. To allow for cleaning, guests are expected to vacate no later than 9:30 am the Saturday they are due to leave. Rates vary from £600 to £950 per week, all inclusive, depending upon season, length of stay and size of party.

To avoid a fruitless enquiry, please first check the availability page on the www.calasithislay.co.uk website. If the period you seek is available, please send us an email to calasithportcharlotte@gmail.com with your details. We can then provide you a quote, our standard Booking & Information guide, and our standard Terms and Conditions for your stay, including details on how to make a deposit. Once we have received your deposit, we will send you a formal booking confirmation which will include the specific details of the booking you have made and our final payment conditions. Finally, please contact our local property manager several days before you arrive and provide your expected time of arrival in Port Charlotte; confirm the numbers in your party and beds you would like made up; and provide a means to contact you (in case you are delayed), so that you can be provided with the house keys.

A deposit of £200 per week is required to establish a confirmed booking. Deposits can be paid either by sterling cheque or ACH bank transfer.. Full payment of the balance due is expected six weeks prior to your arrival. Details for making payments will be provided in our response to your inital enquiry and are included in the standard Booking & Information guide we will send you with your enquiry.
