Brighouse Bay Holiday Park
Enjoying a superb location beside its own sandy beach and offering a huge choice of on site activities for all the family, this coastal family run park has everything you could possibly want for a fantastic holiday.
So spacious and full of wildlife, Brighouse Bay gives an immediate country park feel and is one of Scotland’s top environmental parks. Situated on a quiet secluded peninsula with magnificent views Brighouse Bay has wildlife ponds and is surrounded by acres and acres of walking country with sign posted trails through mixed woodland, over our working livestock farm and along the spectacular coastline.
No surprise that it has held the David Bellamy ‘Gold’ Conservation Award for many, many years.
You can enjoy all seasons, as Brighouse Bay is open all year and, with its first class heated facilities, it is the perfect centre for tourers, campers and motorhomes or the ideal place to have your own holiday home (a choice of new and pre-owned are for sale). The majority of holiday homes on our low density park are privately owned with a small number of centrally heated lodges and holiday home caravans available for let. The lodges, some with luxury hot tubs, are situated in a peaceful area next to the golf course or overlooking the wildlife ponds. Alternatively the premier, standard and budget holiday caravans, priced to suite all, also offer a comfortable stay as does the secluded Old Mill Cottage. Originally a farm cottage the sunroom features the original large water driven wheel used to power the grain mill.
Also to let are our cosy glamping cabins. Families can bring the usual essentials but leave their tent at home. Cabins sleep up to four and have heating, fridge, microwave and electric kettle.
For touring caravanners there is the option to make Brighouse Bay their holiday base for longer stays using our competitively priced seven month or all year seasons.
The park is a pet friendly outdoor playground. As well as the extensive network of coastal and woodland walks we have a challenging 18-hole golf course which offers glorious cliff top views over the Irish Sea, an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, with a café (free wi-fi) and lounge bar to chill out in. Youngsters can beat Dad on the putting green or spend hours of enjoyment in the playgrounds. Alternatively you can go pony trekking, sea angling from the rocks or in the bay if you launch from our all tide slipway. Cycling families can explore our quiet farm tracks, venture up to the nearby Sustrans Route 7 or visit the 7 Stanes forest trails at Dalbeattie or Kirroughtree just over half an hour away. Night time star gazers will enjoy our ‘dark sky’ location.
The local area has a wealth of things to do and interesting places to visit. Our knowledgeable and friendly reception and shop staff can guide you on how to get the most out of your visit to this delightful, scenic corner of Scotland
