Leave Greenock Ocean Terminal
This tour can be customised by you, the time the tour starts is entirely at your convenience. If your time ashore allows the tour duration can be easily extended.
Luss, Loch Lomond
Luss, a very pretty village situated on the western shore of Loch Lomond. It is one of Scotland's most popular villages to visit. Walk past the sandstone and slate cottages to the pier with it's wonderful views up and down Loch Lomond and across the loch to the mountains. From the pier a short walk to the atmospheric church graveyard which has graves dating back to 600AD / 700AD. There is also a 1000 year old Viking grave to amaze you.
The Rest and be Thankful.
The famous pass called The Rest and Be Thankful divides Glen Kinglas from Glen Croe. On top is a viewpoint with beautiful views in Glen Croe where you can clearly see the old valley road which was engineered by General Wade during the subjection of Scotland following the Jacobite rebellion.
Two additional stops if your time ashore allows:
Kilchurn Castle. Additional Stop
Built around 1450, this long abandoned castle is still very impressive, sitting at the top of Loch Awe ringed by mountains both close by and distant makes for a very memorable visit.
St Conan's Kirk. Additional Stop
Just 5 minutes from Kilchurn Castle is this very unique and beautiful church perched on the edge of Loch Awe. Described as enchanting, magical and fascinating, a wonderful stop.
Inverary.
Inverary, on Loch Fyne is a lovely village in a grand scenic setting on the western shore of Loch Fyne, as well as strolling in the village, a walk to the picture perfect Inverary Castle is very popular for visitors. There are shops worth browsing for souvenirs, an excellent whisky shop which will let you sample some quality Scotch.
Ferry Boat Crossing
We make the 15 minute crossing of the Firth of Clyde on a small open deck ferry boat, the views are terrific, up and down the Firth and back towards the steep sided glens that we have travelled through. Your cruise ship is just 10 minutes from where we disembark, there is a final stunning viewpoint that sits above our road back to the Cruise Terminal, if there is time.
Tower Hill, above Gourock.
A magnificent panorama that takes in the upper Firth of Clyde and the surrounding mountain landscapes with their deep sea lochs. A great place to appreciate this part of the world that you have enjoyed today.
