Edinburgh Photography Tour
A four to five hour photography, walking tour of Edinburgh's historic old town.
This is our flagship tour and we are ranked as the number one photography tour in Europe by TripAdvisor. Founded in 2010 by professional photographer James Christie (owner of Blackstar Photography Limited). This walking tour lasts between four and five hours, depending upon the pace of each group. We limit this tour to a maximum of 5 people to ensure everyone on the tour gets ample one-to-one instruction from James.
During the tour you will visit all of the major historic sites on Edinburgh's famed Royal Mile and take photographs that you would be proud to have as wall décor. James Christie has been a professional photographer for over 40 years and has been published in every major newspaper and magazine in the world. He has the gift of being able to take the apparently complex and break it down into easy to understand terms.
If you have a camera that can shoot in manual mode, James will show you how to master manual mode and take full control of your final images. We are consistently given five star reviews and this is due to James' attention to everyone in each tour group, ensuring you go home with the very best shots of Edinburgh.
James was born and bred in Edinburgh and has an intimate knowledge of the best places to shoot the famous landmarks, but as a local - he will show you some of the lesser known gems that Edinburgh has to offer.
You don't need a fancy camera to do this tour - A bridge camera, compact camera or just your smart phone will do. You will be shown best practice and advanced compositional techniques that will enrich your photography for years to come. No camera? No problem, we can supply you with one to use on the tour at no extra charge.
