Bressay/Noss Day Sail
A superb, hands-on, day sail on our traditional wooden fishing boat. Leaving and returning to Lerwick, you will see the fascinating coastline of Bressay and the famous seabird cliffs at Noss National Nature Reserve. 22 August 2025 only
Boarding the Swan at 9.30am, your day will begin with a comprehensive safety briefing including how to work the lines on deck and set the sails. We will then put this into practice, enjoying getting hands-on with the sailing as you explore the cliffs, stacks, coves and caves of Bressay and Noss. You are likely to see seals, porpoises and maybe whales.
A voyage on Swan is very much a hands-on experience - you are part of her crew, and work as a team to make your voyage happen. All tasks are shared and everyone joins in, from the most to the least experienced. For more details of what to expect on board please refer to our Welcome Aboard leaflet.

There are basic waterproofs onboard, however you may feel more comfortable in your own wet weather gear. Please ensure you wear sensible footwear, with good grips, and warm clothing, and don't forget your camera.

The Swan Trust
When you come aboard the Swan you are embarking on a 'hands on' adventure. Play an active role in sailing and working the ship, build friendships with your crew mates, develop new skills and take in stunning scenery. Sailing trips range from a half day to 14 days and no previous sailing experience is required. Private charter also available by request.
