Marcus with guests at Glenlivet Distillery
Glenlivet Distillery
Sensational Speyside
A superb 4 night/5 day whisky tour, staying in a traditional Victorian hotel in the heart of Speyside, Scotland’s largest whisky region with over 60 distilleries. Go to as many distilleries as you like on this tour, we're very happy to work with you.
- DAY 1 Marcus meets you and with a dram in hand whisks you north, over the Forth Road Bridge, onto Perthshire. Your first tasting is the Connoisseur Experience, tasting 5 drams at Aberfeldy Distillery – Dewars). It’s a really fascinating distillery with a small museum and original equipment from centuries ago. Then north to pop in to Dalwhinnie Distillery where you pair chocolates with your scotch. Finally, check in to your hotel in Elgin, a traditional Victorian hotel with superb food and an excellent whisky bar. This is where you will spend the next four nights. Enjoy your first night in Scotland.
- DAYS 2, 3 & 4Over the next three days there’s options, for Scotland’s distillery tours – our suggestions: The Glenlivet Distillery Visionary Tour sampling 3 delicious drams, the Aberlour Deconstructed tasting lovely sherry finishes, the Speyburn Hopkins Experience tasting some of their oldest and rarest expressions, something very different and the Blending Experience at the pretty Strathisla Distillery where you create your own Chivas Regal Blend. This is why we customize our tours, you can take in: Craigellachie, Cardhu, Benriach and of course, Glenfiddich. Drop in dramming means purchasing drams to suit your taste and as many as you like!
- DAY 5 Leaving the heart of scotch whisky country to the Victorian town of Pitlochry where you can enjoy lunch in an olde worlde pub. Then into Blair Atholl Distilelry (Bells) to buy drams – their bar is made from an old mash tun – makes a great photo. Or alternatively, we can arrange a private tasting for you in Robertson’s whisky shop. Finally, one of our favourites, a 6 dram tasting experience at Tullibardine Distillery – a French owned distillery who experiment with cognac, port and wine cask finishes. Then on to Edinburgh/Glasgow (probably a little bit tipsy) where Marcus leaves you. You can add on to this tour with a night or two in the cities, we’re happy to suggest accommodation to suit your budget or book for you.
