It was once the largest religious settlement in Scotland. Here in St Andrews you can visit the Old Course, with an optional stop at the Swilcan bridge. From here you can continue through St Andrews seeing the Castle which was the official residence of Scotland's leading bishop (later archbishop) throughout the Middle Ages and view St Andrews Cathedral ruins which date back to the 1100's.
