One of the Scotland’s true hidden gems Glen Lyon is reached by driving over Ben Lawers which stands at almost 4,000 feet above sea level. Heather covered mountains, babbling burns (rivers), lochs, sheep and cattle create unforgettable Scottish scenic beauty.
Idyllic thatched roofed houses nestle in the village of Fortingall where the Fortingall Yew, estimated to be almost 3,000 years old, grows.
Where Loch Tay becomes the river Tay is the picture postcard village of Kenmore and the magnificent Taymouth Castle visited by Queen Victoria in 1842.
Experience the life of the Picts in 2,500 BC Scotland. The Scottish Crannog Centre features a prehistoric house on the banks of Loch Tay at Kenmore.
Buy some souvenirs in the town of Aberfeldy boasts many outdoor adventure pursuits as well as shops, restaurants and cafes.
Sample the Water of Life at Aberfeldy distillery built in the late 19th century and home to the Aberfeldy Single Malt. Tour the distillery and learn how whisky is fermented, distilled and matured.
