Uig and Great Bernera Tour
Join our friendly guide as they give you an insight to how Island life is past and present. View some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland.
Once we collect you we travel west across the island where we turn off towards Uig and Great Bernera, our first stop after a small hop over the Atlantic is the Bosta Iron Age House which was only uncovered in 1996 and dates back to the 6th-9th centuries AD, there is a small entrance fee, we retrace our steps back through Great Bernera and after another Atlantic crossing we head into Uig and Ardroil Beach where in 1831 the Uig or Lewis Chessmen were discovered then onto the Adhainn Dearg Distillery which offer tours of the distillery , there is a fee for the tour payable at the distillery with the opportunity to have a tasting, this distillery produced the first single malt from the Western Isles since 1829, after which we head back to Stornoway.
