Skye & the Small Isles: Hebridean Horizons
The "Small Isles" of Muck, Eigg, Rum and Canna, each have their own very distinct beauty and character. Island hopping from the sea is breath-taking with always another stunning vista on the horizon, waiting to be explored.
Shorter cruise times between anchorages allow for more guided onshore walks and wildlife watching. There are some excellent walks, especially on Canna and Eigg.
While cruising the Small Isles, the dramatic backdrop of the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye is ever present. Approaching Loch Scavaig from the sea is amongst one of the most captivating scenes on the west coast of Scotland A shore walk to Loch Coruisk, one of the remotest Lochs on Skye is a popular choice as is cruising under the Skye Bridge to explore some of special anchorages on the east side of the Island.
The area is very much a hotspot for cetaceans such as minke whales and dolphins as well as white-tailed eagles. To get a flavour of walks and wildlife read the cruise report from our Guides aboard Emma Jane and also the cruise report from Wildlife Guide Lynsey aboard Elizabeth G.
