North Coast 500
Discover Scotland's rugged North coast along the spectacular North Coast 500 route.
Scotland's answer to Route 66, the North Coast 500 is a circular route which connects the highlights of Scotlands less explored northern reaches combining breathtaking unspoilt natural scenery with some fascinating chapters of Scotland's history.
This encompasses archaelogical sites providing evidence of Scotlands pre-history such as the intriguing Bone and Smoo Caves, through the Iron Age at the Caithness Brochs, the medieval period with imposing Wick and Ardvreck Castles alongside the more recent fairytale like Dunrobin and Castle of Mey right through to the picturesque settlements of today in stunning locations such as Bettyhill, Applecross and Plockton.
The North Coast 500 typically takes around 7 days to circumnavigate in order to take full advantage of its many points of interest although elements of it can also be incorporated into other tours. Please browse through the other tours pages for more information.
