Kintyre Way Walking Holidays

Explore the Kintyre Peninsula along the Kintyre Way. With a wealth of history, magnificent scenery and an abundance of wildlife - not to mention a host of whisky distilleries - this remote peninsula is the perfect place to discover on foot.

All of Contours' walking holidays are self-guided, so you can go it alone or build your walking group from friends and family. Departure times are completely flexible, and you can add in extra nights at any stop to thoroughly explore a favourite place.

Contours Holidays provide daily luggage transfers, 24/7 emergency support, breakfast each morning, and all the maps and guidebooks you'll need to be your own guide.

We offer three holidays along the Kintyre Way, with various itineraries to choose from to suit your pace and plans.

The Complete Kintyre Way

Whether you're following the dramatic coastline or heading inland along wooded paths and over open moors, you'll see the best the Kintyre Peninsula has on offer on the Kintyre Way. You can cover this 100-mile walk over five to eight days - pick whichever itinerary suits your hiking pace.

The Northern Half

Explore the northern half of the Kintyre Peninsula. You'll follow farmland tracks and footpaths through moorland, with stunning views over the surrounding islands throughout. Choose from two-, three- and four-day itineraries.

The Southern Section

Walk the southern section of the Kintyre Way, from Carradale to Machrihanish, over three or four days. This short walking break is perfect for a long weekend, offering a variety of stunning scenery as you make your way around the southern tip of the peninsula.

Our itineraries are flexible. You can always add extra nights at stops of your choosing to build in some rest days and explore each place in full.
