Experience a culinary & cultural journey of food & farming, learning about traditions old & new. Enjoy a fascinating insight to food production at the ancient Melrose Abbey followed by unique access to Standhill Farm ~& Tomato Glasshouse

A 3-course tasting safari with drinks (alcoholic & non alcoholic) spans centuries of time exploring old and new styles of farming.

Starting with a visit to the historic Priorwood Gardens and sample apple juice in the orchard of ancient apple trees while other tastes will tell some of the stories of the adjacent Melrose Abbey. Then heading past the majestic Eildon Hills onto Standhill Farm & Glasshouse, guests will meet the farmer & their cows, get a tour of Scotland’s only commercial tomato glasshouse then feast on local products in the old dairy.

Fabulous local food & drink will be sampled throughout this tour, connecting food to the local lands & waters. With accompanying history, sightseeing, local information and facts told by the people who know it best, local Borderland folk. Guided by local award-winning restaurateurs, William & Katrina Reynolds, passionate hospitality veterans who are proud of the generations of family farming history in the beautiful agricultural Borderlands countryside.

This unique food tour showcases the Borderlands through local food, sharing secrets and knowledge of the hidden local gems. Guests will benefit from the special connections in this outstanding food producing region.
