Day 1 is a fabulous introduction to the Scottish landscape, exploring the mountains, glens and lochs of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and beautiful lochside village of Inveraray with its famous castle. The journey north takes us through the stunning scenery of Glencoe. Overnight Glencoe.
Day 2 takes us west on the spectacular “Road to the Isles” providing wonderful views across the Sound of Arisaig to the Small Isles. Our journey follows in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie at Glenfinnan before we cross “Over the Sea to Skye”. Overnight nr Skye
Day 3 is a tour of the Isle of Skye, passing through Broadford and the Cuillin Mountains to the main settlement on the Island, Portree, with colourful houses and traditional harbour. Later, we head north to admire the scenery and views at the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock Falls. Overnight nr Skye
Day 4 begins with a visit to the iconic castle at Eilean Donan. We then travel onwards through the Great Glen to Fort Augustus to enjoy an hour cruising on Loch Ness, finishing off the day with a visit to Urquhart Castle. Overnight nr Inverness.
Day 5 This morning we visit the Battle site at Culloden before venturing into the heart of Scotland though the Cairngorm forests, passing via Carrbridge with a visit to the Highland Folk Museum for a glimpse into the past. Overnight Pitlochry.
Day 6 We will take some time to enjoy the Victorian town of Pitlochry before moving on to Dunkeld 'Fort of the Caledonians' with a visit to the historic cathedral. Later we visit Stirling Castle, to learn of it's long and turbulent history. Overnight Stirling.
Day 7 Today we head for the City of Edinburgh via South Queensferry and on to the New and Old towns of Edinburgh. On the way we visit Rosslyn Chapel before touring Edinburgh Castle. The day ends with time to browse the Royal Mile before saying our farewells.
