Join us on this slow, immersive winter break in the city of Perth to learn how to use traditional jewellery tools and design and create your first pieces of silver jewellery.
The organic shapes in Scottish nature offer an endless source of inspiration for artists and craftspeople all year round. Artist Roberta Pederzoli’s own pieces combine traditional jewellery techniques with fairy-tale elegance influenced by close observation of the natural environment. This creative retreat includes a two-day workshop with Roberta and a day of exploring and enjoying Highlands Perthshire.
What to expect
Join us on this slow, immersive winter break in the city of Perth to learn how to use traditional jewellery tools and design and create your first pieces of silver jewellery.
The workshop runs over two full days and takes place at the Creative Exchange in Perth, where Roberta Pederzoli also has her own studio. Roberta will introduce you to traditional basic jewellery skills such as sawing, texturing, hammering, drilling, filing, annealing, soldering and polishing. You will start working with copper to familiarise yourself with the techniques, and then move onto silver to create your own piece of jewellery.
Before the workshop starts we’ve built in some time for gathering inspiration and exploring the surroundings a bit. With many places being closed due to Covid-19 as we’re planning this break, we don’t have a detailed schedule for the programme around the workshop yet. But you can be sure it will be truly inspiring, in true Wild at Art fashion!
Tools and metals for the workshop are included in the price. In running the workshop we will strictly follow government recommendations to guarantee your safety.
