The Lochmaben Heritage Centre is situated on the ground floor in Lochmben Town Hall ,it tells the story of Lochmabens's long and diverse history that goes back to the 12th Century.

Since the 12th century Lochmaben has played host to famous Kings, Queens and Lords. King Edward 1st, who built the existing Lochmaben Castle, King Robert the Bruce , hero of Bannockburn, Edward 111, victor of the Battle of Halidon Hill, Archibald the Grim, Earl of Douglas who recaptured Lochmaben Castle from the English , Mary Queen of Scots who held a banquet at Lochmaben Castle. These stories and many others are told using A2 Display boards. There is also an Art Gallery featuring works by the local Hightae and Lochmaben Art Groups.
