Hebridean Adventures offer all-inclusive cruises from Oban, sailing around the beautiful Outer Hebrides, Isle of Skye and the west coast of the Scottish Highlands, searching for whales, dolphins and other sea-life. On our shore excursions, we visit famous harbours like Tobermory on Mull, as well as remote islands with Viking and Pictish history, or stroll along stunning sandy beaches which we have all to ourselves. We also have a land-based wildlife tour by minibus too on Lewis & Harris.
Based in the ferry and fishing port of Oban on the west coast of Scotland, Hebridean Adventures offer all-inclusive* island-hopping adventure cruises with whale, dolphin and wildlife watching for anyone keen to visit and experience the Inner and Outer Hebrides. You can even charter our whole boat, the very popular MV Hjalmar Bjorge, just for yourselves if you have a group of family or friends, or need a mothership-style operation for surveying, filming or any other reason. As experts in marine and land-based ecology, Hebridean Adventures guides are on board to help you enjoy a wildlife watching experience on both the ship and on daily shore excursions. The waters surrounding the Hebrides and the North Minch in particular, are a recognised European hotspot for cetaceans and home in season to porpoises, whales, dolphins, basking sharks, seals, otters, deer, eagles and seabirds galore (incl. puffins, shags, razorbills, guillemots, gannets, kittiwakes and more.)
We are committed to sustainable and responsible wildlife encounters and are an accredited Wildlife Safe (WiSE) operator.
All our whale and dolphin sightings are collected and submitted to our official charity partner, the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT), where we are regularly one of the top 3 observers each season logging hundreds of sightings.
If you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground then we also offer a day trip land tour of the Isle of Lewis by minibus, our Lewis & Harris Safari. We know this area very well and can still offer the chance to maybe spot whales and dolphins as part of your tour, as well as eagles and many other species.
*Only exception is bar drinks which are on an honesty system and settled in cash at the end of the cruise.
