We frequently welcome individual travellers as well as couples and groups of friends, there's always a space at our (crafting) table! Courses run throughout the year and options are available for 2 or 6-night breaks depending on the course. With a total of 16 different course options to choose from, there's something to suit every taste and persuasion. Choose from knitting and crochet, patchwork and quilting, watercolour painting, lace making, photography, felting, eco-printing and indigo dyeing, millinery, corsetry and more!
You're welcome to bring your own projects or to start something entirely new while staying with us. Several of our tutors offer specialised workshops that focus on one particular aspect of their craft. For example, Gill McBride, our sewing tutor, runs several focussed workshops on the intricacies of dressmaking and tailoring while Ewa Kuniczak, our felting tutor, can teach you how to paint with wool, make beautiful felted accessories and more.
There are 23 en-suite rooms available and all of our family rooms enjoy breath taking views, some stretching as much as 25 miles to Stirling Castle and the historic Wallace Monument. While on their craft break guests will enjoy full board catering, plus regular tea and coffee breaks with home baking prepared daily by our chefs, and may take full advantage of our complimentary return transfers from Stirling train station*.
When you stay with us for 5 or more nights, then you have the option of taking a trip out to Loch Katrine where you can set sail on the Sir Walter Scott or Lady of the Lake Steamship and take in the stunning views of Ben A'an and Ben Venue. Or, you could pop up to Aberfoyle for a visit to The Scottish Wool Centre where you can see some of the live, seasonal, outdoor animal shows, meet the animals and browse the craft shop.
