Soutra is a perfect stopping point for coffee, cakes, light lunches and wide-open views. Find it on the A68 at the northern foot of Soutra Hill where the Lothians meet the Scottish Borders.
Whether you're looking for somewhere to re-energise on a long journey, a lunch stop on a day trip, or simply somewhere to while away the afternoon, Soutra will take good care of you.
We are passionate about homebaking and provide a huge range of cakes, biscuits and traybakes all made onsite - we bake over 300 different recipes at our last count! Our morning rolls, deli sandwiches, homemade soups and light lunches all feature locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible. And we are big coffee lovers, so you can guarantee you'll find the perfect espresso, flat white or cappuccino, with plenty of alternatives for tea drinkers too. We also cater for customers who need food which is gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan.
We have a light and airy site with wonderful big windows - the views out to the east span all the way to the Bass Rock on a clear day. In the summer, you can take a table on our terrace with fields and hills all around.
Our team love to give a great welcome to everyone. We are very family friendly with high chairs and a chilren's menu - so please bring your little ones and feel this is somewhere you can relax together.
