Independent Whisky & Spirit Merchant
Established in 1868 by Andrew Dewar Rattray, we began life as an independent grocer and tea, wine and spirit merchant.
In particular, our founder was known for his enthusiasm and passion for the selection, maturation and blending of Scotch whiskies. A. D. Rattray has continued as an independent whisky bottler, specialising in single casks whiskies, with our full range of whiskies and many exclusive bottlings available in our shop.
We also have whiskies from our local distilleries, including Lochlea and Arran, and from our sister company The Clydeside Distillery.
Ayrshire and Scottish Food & Drink
Staying true to our roots, we take pride in carefully selecting every product in our Whisky Shop. Sourcing the very best spirits and foods from independent producers located in Ayrshire and across Scotland. You can discover a fine selection of wines, beers, rums, gins, teas, coffees, foods, cigars, gifts & more...
Samples Bar
Our sample bar area is where you can enjoy an informal whisky sampling and get the chance to taste our range of whiskies and other products. We also have brand pop-up events, featuring different products from our shop with an ambassador from the company on had to tell you all about what they do.
From The Cask
As single cask whiskies are at the heart of what we do, you will find two casks “on tap” in our shop. You can have a bottle filled straight from the cask and sealed in wax. You then hand write your label with all of the whisky details plus your name or a special message – we then apply it to your bottle to complete your own personalised whisky.
About A. D. Rattray
At A. D. Rattray we believe whisky is the finest and most interesting spirit in the world.
As an independent whisky company, we have been selecting and maturing casks of single malt Scotch whisky for over 150 years. Established in 1868 the company has passed down through generations of the Morrison family, a name that is steeped in whisky heritage.
Today we continue to go to great lengths to source interesting casks and quality spirit from across Scotland to create our distinctive whiskies. At the core of our portfolio are our single cask bottlings, The A. D. Rattray Cask Collection, which along with our award-winning Casks of Scotland single malt Scotch whiskies, are ready to be discovered and enjoyed. Every bottle has a story to tell…
