Quality accommodation in a lovely area just on the edge of Peebles. We are a small working farm with sheep,cows, dogs, cats and family pony's. Lots to do in the area or just that quiet break. So close to Edinburgh - situated in a short walking distance to the main bus route..
The original byre of Winkston Farm has been carefully converted to form two charming cosy semi-detached cottages which retain the original character of the whin-stone building, with its natural wood interior and pine floors. Open plan design and tastefully decorated with spiral staircase to upper sleeping area. We are a small working farm with sheep,cow and horses. Our pet Border Terriers. And our working Border Collie dogs.The cottages are similar to each other both 2 bedrooms with zip and link beds ( both sleep 4 comfortably) one bedroom is on the ground floor directly next to the newly refurbished shower room. The kitchen is fully equiped including fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave and oven. Lounge/ dinning room with electric coal effect fire and electric heating through out. Flat screen TV with Amazon fire stick.. Free wi - fi available throughout . We are centrally located 5 minutes from Peebles 10 minutes from Innerleithen and 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh. Bus stop is on the main road just at the bottom of our drive. Peebles is a charming town with plenty to do, lovely walks, golfing, biking, shopping, theatre and choice of great restaurants.
Situated on the edge of Peebles ,only a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk via a lovely scenic side road and new multi use pathway,10 minute drive takes you to Innerleithen,passing Glentress bikers paradise on the way. Edinburgh can be visited by hopping on the Border bus and leaving your car safely parked with us,a very easy way to visit the famous Edinburgh festival,castle and the lovely charm of Edinburgh.So country life and city life are very accessable from this easy situation.

Our lovely Peebles area has lots to offer,many historical houses,Traquair, Abbotsford, Floors, Mellerstain,Thirlstane Castle, Neidpath Castle to name but a few.The Border abbeys of Dryburgh,Jedburgh,Kelso and Melrose are all certainly worth a visit.
A question often asked is what can this area offer families, cycling is a great outdoor sport,offering wonderfull facilities at Glentress forrest , Go Ape and Innerleithen downhill cycle run, also the snowboard sporcentre on outskirts of Edinburgh,we have a lovely swimming pool and the Gytes sports centre in Peebles offers a wide variety of sports choices to suit all members of he family. Horse riding available locally also Alpaca trecking nearby at Velvet Hall. Kailzie gardens with its fishing and Osprey Tweed Valley project and resturant can offer a lovely family day out.There is nearby the Border segway experience
We also have a great choice of individual shops ,art galleries and Tea rooms.Tweed theatre provides entertainment to suit all age groups and film sessions on a Sunday afternoon.There is a very popular golf course to test your skills,offering lovely views over the Peebles town. Just out of town is Dawick Botanical gardens and the famous Stobo Castle health spa ,where the ladies can enjoy a pamper day. Coco Black the renound choclatier offers classes on chocolate making as well as having there lovely coffee shop in Peebles town centre. Also for the ladies a local jewler Joanna Thomson who can supply a wonderfull selection of hand crafted jeweller.We have contacts for fishing and deer stalking and details of these can be supplied on request.
