West Lodge
Newly refurbished, this delightful gate lodge on the magnificent Milne Graden Estate provides the perfect excuse to put a busy week behind you and discover a gentler pace.
Presented in a perfect cottage style, the overall feel is wonderfully peaceful and restful in keeping with the nature of its surroundings.
Formerly the gate lodge for the wider estate, the cottage sits on one level with a cosy sitting room, a large double bedroom with king size bed, and a pretty breakfasting kitchen which leads out to a private east facing garden - perfect for sunny mornings with coffee and croissants.
The sitting room is beautifully balanced with a Farrow & Ball colour scheme in ‘Light Blue’ complemented by Chelsea Textiles curtains in a gentle taupe colourway and a pelmet board upholstered with their ‘Insects and Butterflies’ fabric. This gentle country/coastal theme continues with furnishings in linen, natural jute and the winning look of limed oak.
In the bedroom, designer of choice is Angie Lewin with feature wallpaper in ‘Nature’s Table’ and artwork by Yorkshire artist Emma Lawrenson. An oversized headboard in a biscuit colourway adds a luxury touch, while a peppering of soft furnishings will appeal to doggy lovers everywhere!
Here you can rest, relax and soak up the gentle sounds of nature, wander riverside trails with your four-legged friend, or perhaps stop and indulge in lingering lunches in hidden gems.
Alternatively if you prefer your holidays packed full of activity, there are endless opportunities for exploring, sightseeing or more active pursuits and adventures right across the beautiful Borderlands and the Northumberland coast.
The captivating setting is the reason visitors return to Milne Graden year after year and will prove an irresistible draw for those seeking a relaxed stay in cosy surroundings.
Dog Park
All Milne Graden properties benefit from use of the Tails of the Tweed Dog Park in the estate’s former Victorian kitchen garden. Sitting on the route of the mapped walks which run around the estate, this bright, sunny spot is a perfect space for relaxation while your furry friend can play and run freely within the safety of this enclosed space. A range of dog agility obstacles and toys are sure to add some extra fun!
