Tontine Hotel, Greenock
Built in 1808 as a private mansion for a Mr. George Robertson, The Tontine Hotel keeps its beautiful vintage appearance with many original georgian features, offering premier bedrooms in the original part of the building, alongside our standard bedrooms. Alongside our 52 bedrooms we also offer a lounge bar, cocktail bar, dining area, 3 function suites, and 2 meeting rooms.
Whether you have chosen The Tontine Hotel Greenock as your place to stay for a holiday or as a venue for Corporate or Social functions, there is no doubt this is fabulous family-run hotel which caters for weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, christenings and communions, conferences and business meetings, funerals and all other social events and functions.
The Tontine Hotel is centrally located with the town center a 5 minute walk away and is close to many key tourist locations such as the Esplanade, McLean Museum, Lyle Hill and the Battery Park.
The hotel recently underwent a £2 million refurbishment programme in 2016 which introduced the addition of our new cocktail bar Eighteen08 and also included our hotel lounge bar, lobby and Ardgowan function suite, finished to a high standard while still keeping in with the buildings classic look.
All of our bedrooms are en-suite with showers and some bedrooms have baths. Each room also offers tea/coffee making facilities, hairdriers and a flat-screen TV. We also offer room service and business facilities such as faxing/photocopying.
We have dedicated disabled-friendly and family rooms, and can provide an iron and ironing board on request.
The hotel has in-house washing and drying facilities that can be used on request.
Our Georgian Restaurant serves full Scottish breakfasts and fine food for lunch and dinner.
At The Tontine, guests can benefit from free parking and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
If you are planning on a cruise the Tontine Hotel is ideally situated around the corner from Greenock's port of call.
We are also home to one of the routes of the famous Waverly, the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world, which operates annually in Greenock from May until October and is a 5 minute walk from the boarding point.
