The Pierhouse Hotel & Seafood Restaurant
A friendly and relaxed environment where the emphasis is firmly on great food and service in our 2 AA Rosette restaurant.
Hidden away in the quiet village of Port Appin, on the shores of Loch Linnhe in Argyll, surrounded by the spectacular raw beauty of the magnificent west coast of Scotland, you will find The Pierhouse Hotel and two AA Rosette Seafood restaurant.
Our little hotel with just twelve rooms sits on the shore of Loch Linnhe, by the pier where the ferry goes back and forth to the island of Lismore. It truly has a spectacular setting with its views across to the island of Mull, the mountains of Morven and the Ardnamurchan peninsula and is peacefully tucked away at the end of the road.
Food and its sourcing is at heart of the hotel, and full advantage is taken of the incredible availability locally of the finest of all things from the land, the sea and the air. Quality is a watchword for us when choosing our local food suppliers. We work hard to establish long standing relationships with our suppliers who share our commitment to produce which is high quality, locally sourced and with known provenance.
The Ferry Bar is stocked with over 110 malts, craft gins and sitting by the wood burning stove is the perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by on the adjacent pier. Lunches and evening meals are served daily as are teas, coffees and home-baking.The hotel has 6 yacht moorings available for guests.
The coastal village of Port Appin and nearby isle of Lismore offers a wealth of activities for lovers of the great outdoors. Gentle walks, cycle rides on the National Cycle Network and in the forests, Munro bagging and Corbett hill walking, sea kayaking, bird watching as well as looking out for seals and otters on the loch. Close by is the impressive Castle Stalker and the scene of the famous 18th Century Appin Murder. Take the passenger ferry from outside the hotel to Lismore and explore on foot or by bike to see an Iron Age Broch, ruined castles and stunning scenery.
The Pierhouse is open daily from 8am until late (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
