The Moat House Annan is an 18th century historic house built on the moat bank of an ancient Motte & Bailey castle (1125) which was once the original seat of the ancestors of Robert the Bruce - King of Scotland. It was once the home of James Grahame a famous Scottish poet who wrote the reknown poem "The Sabbath"

This recently refurbished house has been delightfully appointed to a very high standard and has been tastefully decorated to create a vibrant location for any large group wanting a self catering holiday in the hidden gem that is Dumfries and Galloway. We have taken particular attention to the provision of facilities for people with limited mobility and disabilities. The Moat House boasts 5 LARGE bedrooms (4 of which are truly wheelchair accessible - and three of which have profiling beds and two have X-Y ceiling track hoists).
