The Four Seasons Hotel and now Little Larder, is located in the heart of Strathearn, Perthshire. It is accessible from all over Scotland and has a magical aura that exudes calmness and tranquillity, a place that is at one with nature. Sitting on the edge of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, it offers a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city and town life, a safe haven for all. It is a place where #Connectingwithnature has become so much more important. It is about #justbeing
Little Larder opened in May 2021 and echoes the vision of bringing the outside in by reflecting the four corners of Scotland. With delicacies foraged locally and made into yummy chutneys and ketchups as well as pies made from local Perthshire beef, and Loch Etive trout smoked and cured in our own kitchens, our chefs have been busy. There is a nod to Chef Ian’s past life with Bakewell puddings and he has experimented with Matcha Tea Blondies as well as more traditional Double Chocolate Brownies amongst other sweet treats. For those with limited time in the area we have brought some of the Best of Scotland for you to sample including, Orkney jeweller, Celina Rupp, Dundee’s Oor Willie and Stirling’s GraceChocolate to the banks of Loch Earn. We hope something for everyone!
As for our bedroom accommodation, we offer something for everyone. An apartment for the independent traveller and chalets that are great for families as well as our family suit in the hotel which can accommodate five guests. We offer Earn View Rooms, all spacious and bright with simply stunning views across the loch and two rooms in the original part of the building are now our Highland Rooms with four posters, mini-fridges and mood lighting.
The Four Seasons is a landmark hotel in the area. It is famous for #TheBeatles who stayed here in 1964. They stayed in Chalet 1 and Chalet 6 enroute to Glasgow from Dundee, ate steak, drank a bit, played with a dog (a golden retriever) and took a boat out in the loch – what else would you do!?!?
The main hotel houses Seasons View (restaurant) where the outside continues to be brought in, in both the food and the décor. It features a setting sun on ancient woodlands with a carpet of spring bluebells as well as a rooftop canopy of local treetops shining in all their autumn glory of golds and autumn rusts. A Nordic winter décor of white stone and teal furnishings is warmed by peat bricks and log fires, whilst outside we dream of endless summer. It is the venue of choice for weddings as well as home to our all-day dining offer.
Seasons View has consistently been recognised for the quality of its food for over 20 years by the AA rosette scheme -simply a recognition of the passion of the chefs who have been in stewardship over the years. Current delicacies that Chef Ian is developing includes, Highland Wagyu Beef Cheek with pickled beetroot and fermented mustard, Duck Breast, with garlic, murin, liver parfait and mushrooms and Strawberries with Moroccan Mint Ice Cream, Aged Balsamic and Strawberry Consommé. First tastes are they are simply scrummy!
What more can we say other than The Four Seasons is about bringing the outside in, in both the food that we offer and the atmosphere in the hotel. We are a local destination and when guests arrive, we want them to feel that they can kick off their shoes and simply feel at home. So come visit us, bring the dog (or cat), settle beside the fire and join our family. See you soon!
