The Burrow is located in the gently rolling hills above Turnberry. Guests enjoy stunning west coast sunsets with views of Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran. The luxury lodge has it’s own Japanese Ofuro Hot Tub, located in a rustic gazebo that offers privacy and seclusion for those long soaks under the stars. Fluffy dressing gowns, slippers, and extra towels are included for your stay. This is an adult only (over 25yrs), dog friendly site where pets can roam freely in the comfort and security of their own gardens.
The Burrow is one of four luxury lodges with hot tubs, located at Elsay May, Park Farm, Turnberry. From here you can enjoy incredible views across the rolling hills and panoramic sea views and sunsets across the Firth of Clyde looking out to Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran.
Each lodge is surrounded by it’s own secure, private garden – ideal for those bringing their dogs. Elsay May is a dog friendly site and dogs are provided with their own personalised goodie bag and dog bed with handmade soft polar fleece quilts. There is a charge of £20 per dog per stay, payable on arrival.
Your private garden area is secured by rustic post and rail fencing and native hedging to help encourage a natural habitat for a variety of wildlife.
Next to your lodge an open fronted rustic gazebo provides a covered area for your private Japanese Ofuro hot tub. No matter the weather you can still enjoy relaxing in the bubbling warm water. Towels, fluffy robes and slippers are included for the duration of your stay.
Each lodge is furnished with locally handmade pine furniture, from the large wooden beds with thistle carvings to the dining table and chairs and the kitchen units. The kitchenettes are equipped with a sink, small fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, and fresh milk, bread, butter, coffee, tea and sugar for your arrival.
The en suite shower rooms have all you need with toilet, shower, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. Soft, fluffy bath and hand towels are provided, shower gel, soap and shampoo are also provided for your use if required. There is also a small radiator in the main lodge area to provide all round heat if the wood burning stove is not in use.
Above the main living areas, high up in the pointed ceiling, hang grand rustic chandeliers. Cosy up on those long dark nights in the comfortable fireside chairs in front of the Hygge wood burning stove. Each lodge has a TV/DVD combi with a good selection of DVDs to choose from.
Enjoy the peace and tranquillity on still, clear evenings. You might hear the calls of the resident barn owls, or even catch a glimpse of them in flight.
The farmhouse kitchen is a hive of activity preparing breakfast every day and evenings meals 5 days a week, from Friday to Tuesday. These meals need to be pre-booked and are delivered to the door of your lodge. Breakfast is the main event and will set you up for the day! Look out for the amazing eggs produced by our very own rare breed hens.
There are plenty of coastal and hill walks nearby, with Culzean Castle and Country Park being just a short distance away by car. Enjoy a walk to Turnberry Lighthouse, built in 1873 and located beside the ruins of Turnberry Castle, thought to be the birthplace of Robert the Bruce in 1274. The lighthouse is sometimes open for light bites and refreshments.
Take a trip to Ailsa Craig on the MFV Glorious from Girvan Harbour. Also known as Paddy’s Milestone, Ailsa Craig is home to around 70,000 gannets making the island the 3rd largest gannet colony in the UK.
Enjoy the great outdoors with local activity specialists Adventure Carrick who offer a huge range of sports including kayaking, coasteering, paddle boarding, mountain biking, hill walking and foraging to name only a few.
A walkers paradise, the Ayrshire Coastal Path runs 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. Crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde, this coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife.
The nearby village of Kirkoswald has a lovely artisan vibe with a variety of shops, restaurant/pub and church.
The studio at Greendolphins Glass is where artist Duncan Stewart creates, and displays, his pieces of kiln-formed (fused) glass. Visit the studio to view the pieces on display and learn how they were made.
Explore Scotch whisky and its fascinating heritage at A. D. Rattray Whisky Shop, located in the beautifully renovated old village school.
Souter’s Inn offers coffee, snacks, lunch and suppers. Built on the site of the old school house where Robert Burns studied in 1775, this thatched roof Inn has exposed brickwork and oak featuring throughout.

Kirklands House & Garden is a is a family run shop & garden. A unique and inspiring place to browse unusual gifts and plants, with lots of friendly advice. The well filled courtyard garden is home to many interesting and beautiful plants, creative displays.
Maidens is a beautiful little seaside village a 5-minute drive from the lodges. The harbour is home to several boats, with the beach attracting locals and visitors all year round. Wildings Restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner and Rope's is a new bistro located in Maidens overlooking the harbour and Maidens Bowling Club.
The village of Turnberry is world famous due to the Turnberry Resort and Golf Course. The course, which was built in 1904, includes two championship courses and the Golf Academy, attracting golf enthusiasts from all over the world. The resort also offers a beautifully refurbished ESPA Spa and an award winning afternoon tea service.
