Borve Lodge Estate lies on the magnificent Atlantic coastline of the Outer Hebridean Isle of Harris and The Broch is one of the Estate's premier self-catering properties, along with The Rock House.
Sleeping 2 people, this award winning property offers unique and luxurious accommodation for couples seeking the perfect retreat. Overlooking the Borve Valley, beaches and the Atlantic beyond The Broch is well appointed for exploring the island.
The inspiration for this truly unique building came from dwellings that were scattered across the Scottish coastline during the iron age. A stay within the Broch can only be described as unique, and a raw minimalist design has been maintained throughout the interior. Spanning 3 floors, the Broch benefits from under-floor heating and a wood burning stove, ensuring a cosy interior for those inevitable rainy Harris days and nights. Satellite TV and wireless broadband provide connectivity during your chill-out time and we get no complaints of anyone tiring of the view.
The Broch is a place that offers true calm and solitude.
For our more active guests, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities on and around the Estate. Our accommodation is in the Borve Valley, which is one of the few areas of mature woodland in West Harris and is a perfect location for walking and picnics. Beyond the environs of the estate, the walking options are endless.
Fly fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on the Laxdale River system, a stunning location in West Harris that extends into the Luskentyre estuary and on our Lochs and Lochans is also available.
Other activities available locally include photography, bird and wildlife watching and depending on the season, mountain biking, kayaking and surfing.
Prices from £1600 per week (low season). Short breaks available.
