Cycling families will love following the Sustrans route 7 which passes the park entrance and the 7 Stanes forest trails at Dalbeattie and Kirroughtree just half an hour away.
The area has a wealth of coastal, hill and forest walks, a variety of golf courses with the championship Brighouse Bay course just a short drive along the coast, many interesting visitor attractions including a local wildlife conservation park, activity and riding centres and the yummy Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory only ten minutes away.
The artists’ town of Kirkcudbright has a wealth of history, numerous galleries and lots of great coffee shops. Watch the fishing boats unload their catch and enjoy a fresh fish and chip supper later.
