Located in the hidden village of Port O' Warren reached via a single track road Sanderling offers guests a peaceful getaway from it all whilst being close to a village shop and small town.
The cottage is one of the oldest in the hamlet which consists of six houses and was originally a single storey croft and forge. In later years it was a small tea room offering coffee, cake and icecream to weary walkers on the stunning cliff walk which passes by.
Sanderling is now a beautifully renovated coastal holiday cottage sleeping up to four guests comfortably. The pretty private cottage garden is a delight with a patio area to taking in the view of the Solway and place to sit and listen to the sea.
Port O' Warren is a great location for touring Dumfries and Galloway. There are lots of cliff, forest and countryside walks in the area.
Enter the cottage through the conservatory in to a small porch with a tiled floor a great place to kick off your shoes or boots and hang your coats.
The conservatory overlooks the garden taking in the sea views and is a lovely peaceful place to sit and read or watch the stars . Guests tell us that they enjoy eating breakfast there.
The large kitchen/ dining area offers guests a family space with new painted wood units and rustic oak floor. The kitchen appliances consist of a cooker, halogen hob, microwave, retro fridge freezer and a dishwasher.
