Sandend Cottage is a lovely 3 bedroomed cottage with stunning views overlooking the beautiful Sandend beach and bay in a quiet "Get-away-from-it-all" village on the Banffshire Coast. A perfect spot for a beach holiday, you can watch your (older) children digging sandcastles, taking a surfing lesson or damming the burn from the kitchen window or the bench on the Rockery to the side of the house. There is also a secluded terrace garden with a summer house, ideal for barbeques and enjoying the long summer evenings.
Enjoy a walk along the beach, or further afield along the coastal path to neighbouring Portsoy and Cullen, both pretty fishing towns, well worth exploring. Discover the ruins of Findlater Castle, perched on the cliffs on your way down to secluded Sunnyside Beach. Your dogs will love you a little bit more if you bring them with you!
Within an hour and a half drive, you can explore Aberdeen, numerous castles including Balmoral and Royal Deeside, the highest concentration of distilleries in the world, with instantly recognisable names (think Glenfiddich, Macallan), fantastic golf courses, the best salmon fishing rivers, the Spey and lesser known River Deveron, take a boat trip to search for the resident dolphins, the Cairngorms National Park - plenty to entertain you for a week or more!
The cottage has 3 bedrooms with a king size double bed, a twin room and a single room which doubles up as a snug, with a second TV and HiFi. Downstairs the newly fitted kitchen has all the modern accessories you will need and more! The lounge has a gas (but log effect) burning stove and there is a back entrance to the utility for cleaning off the dogs/kids before letting them into the rest of the house!
There is a toy box with books and games for younger children and we can also provide a travel cot and highchair. The cottage is WiFi enabled and you can park on the dead end road to the harbour, directly outside the door.

Green Things
We try to manage our all our cottages in as sustainable a manner as possible. We recycle everything and provide information so our guests can do the same. We are aiming to reduce our use of plastics, by refilling (handsoaps) or sourcing products without plastic packaging (toilet paper, detergents etc). We both drive electric vehicles. I try not to use the tumble dryer, whatever the weather, line drying sheets and towels outside whenever possible. And we have recommendations of local activites, food suppliers and attractions so you can reduce your carbon footprint once you are here. A small start perhaps, but a step in the right direction!
