The Maltings is a converted barn from the 1720s which is now a family and pet friendly holiday home, close to the beautiful Fife coast and well placed for the famous golf courses of St Andrews. The house can accommodate extended families, walking and cycling groups or golfing parties across 5 bedrooms plus a sofa bed. With two separate, large lounge areas and a sheltered deck, there is plenty of space for people to spread out and make the most of this unique property.
The Maltings makes maximum use of the space afforded by the original barn, with a huge open-plan ground floor space incorporating the kitchen, dining area and double height living area. The living room and the dining area both have seating for 12. A second living space upstairs includes a games area with a junior pool table and a games console in an alcove off the main living space..
The five bedrooms are spread across the ground floor and 1st floor with rooms at either end of the extensive living space, providing privacy for all guests. The double room and twin room share a bathroom with the other rooms all having their own ensuite bathrooms. There is an additional double sofa bed in the games area in the upstairs living area which provides a secluded extra bed.
Outside, there is an extensive decking area with patio furniture and barbecue.
Pitlessie is a small village in a rural area. A car is ideal for exploring North East Fife, and there are many attractions within an hour's drive. However, for those wanting to leave the car behind, there is an extensive network of express buses that serve the village linking Pitlessie to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and St Andrews.
There are no shops in Pitlessie, but Muddy Boots Farm Shop is 1 mile away and the village of Ladybank has a butcher, a pharmacist and a supermarket just 2 miles away. Cupar at 4 miles away has an extensive range of shops including 3 major supermarkets and Fife's best bakery!
For those not wanting to cook, the Pitlessie Village Inn can be seen across the village green from the gates of the Maltings. Their friendly staff serve great food and drink.
